Job summary

SEHA is seeking an experienced laboratory supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure quality control, and lead a team of professionals. The role includes strategic planning, budgeting, policy implementation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver high-quality clinical laboratory services.

Responsibilities cover staff development, performance monitoring, and process improvements within a modern hospital lab in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Qualifications

• NLT 6 years clinical experience in a accredited clinical laboratory environment by CAP or JCIA or Canadian Hospital accreditation or CPAC Clinical Pathology Accreditation (UK) or local HAAD experience
• NLT 8 years clinical experience in a clinical laboratory environment and NLT 5 years since gaining a higher qualification
• UAE National: NLT 3 years relevant experience in an acute care hospital and NLT 1 year managerial or supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Assisting in development of a strategic vision for the section and produce a report for the facility on service developments and future plans
• Monitoring service area and staff performance
• Lead assigned team to provide efficient and effective service and contribute to department policies and annual business plan
• Overseeing daily activities of all services offered by the section and related duties
• Provide coaching and support to section staff
• Participate in initiation and implementation of section-wide projects
• Recommend service expansion in line with department vision
• Conduct regular service area meetings
• Assist in budget management and cost-improvement schemes
• Ensure inventory control and proper stock rotation
• Assist in recruiting, training and appraisal of staff
• Direct workload allocation and prioritization of procedures
• Represent service at multi-disciplinary level for coordinated care
• Ensure collaboration with senior staff and maintain safety and quality standards
• Deliver training and education for staff in handling drugs and equipment
