Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a skilled Kitchen and Laundry Equipment Technician in Abu Dhabi to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial kitchen and laundry machinery used in a hospitality setting. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and related faults, and maintain a range of equipment such as ovens, fryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and laundry machines.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or certification in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, or related field.
• Experience as Kitchen Equipment Technician, Laundry Technician, or Maintenance Technician.
• Hospitality or hotel environment experience is advantageous.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, technical information, and basic diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and related faults.
• Maintain ovens, ranges, fryers, dishwashers, refrigerators and laundry gear.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Coordinate with external contractors when specialist repairs are required.
• Ensure safety and compliance with HACCP and electrical safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment condition.
• Assist with equipment installation, testing and commissioning when required.
• Support Engineering team with general maintenance duties and on emergency calls.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and related equipment faults.
• Maintain equipment such as ovens, ranges, fryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, washing machines, dryers, ironing equipment, and other commercial laundry and kitchen machinery.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify potential equipment problems before they result in breakdowns.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are completed safely and according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts, and equipment condition.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when specialist repairs are required.
• Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
• Follow hotel safety procedures, electrical safety standards, HACCP requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas after completing maintenance activities.
• Assist with equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and replacement when required.
• Support the Engineering team with general maintenance duties when necessary.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and operational requests as required.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Engineering management team.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma, vocational qualification, or relevant certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Equipment Technician, Laundry Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Experience in a hotel, resort, commercial kitchen, laundry facility, or hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, plumbing, and kitchen/laundry equipment systems.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, technical information, and basic electrical/mechanical diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
