Job summary

Confidential Company seeks an experienced installation technician for commercial kitchen and laundry equipment in Dubai. The role covers hands-on installation, connections, testing, and commissioning on-site, with emphasis on gas, electrical, and steam systems.

You will read drawings, source materials locally, and work with engineers and clients to ensure safe, compliant handovers. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in related installs, strong tooling skills, and a pro-active, independent work

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or related trade.
• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on installation experience in commercial kitchens or MEP works.
• Solid knowledge of gas, electrical and steam connection requirements.
• Familiarity with UAE local market sources for installation materials.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and installation instructions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands-on installation, connection, testing, and commissioning of kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Install gas-, electrical-, and steam-operated equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, gas, and steam connections for installations.
• Read and understand installation drawings, specs, and site requirements.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades on site.
• Carry out testing, leak checks, and basic troubleshooting post-installation.
• Ensure safe, clean, and compliant handover of installed equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and proper tool/material organization on site.

Job description

1. Carry out hands-on installation, connection, testing, and commissioning of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment.

2. Install and connect gas-operated, electrical, and steam-operated kitchen and laundry equipment as per manufacturer requirements and project specifications.

3. Carry out plumbing, electrical, gas, and steam connections required for equipment installation.

4. Read and understand equipment installation drawings, connection details, technical specifications, and site requirements.

5. Identify and arrange the required plumbing, electrical, gas, steam, and installation materials for site work.

6. Familiarity with local UAE suppliers and sources for plumbing, electrical, gas, copper/brass fittings, valves, pipes, and other installation materials.

7. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for installation and maintenance activities.

8. Perform copper/brass tube cutting, bending, brazing, and fitting as required for gas, water, and related connections.

9. Carry out silicon/sealant application and finishing work to ensure proper sealing and professional installation.

10. Conduct pressure testing, leak checks, functional checks, and basic troubleshooting after installation.

11. Ensure all equipment connections are safe, secure, and properly aligned before handover.

12. Coordinate with Site Supervisors, Project Engineers, clients, consultants, and other trades during installation works.

13. Coordinate with civil, MEP, and other contractors to ensure the required services and connection points are available before equipment installation.

14. Identify site constraints, incorrect connection points, material shortages, and technical issues and report them to the concerned supervisor.

15. Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure tools, materials, and work areas are kept clean and organized.

16. Follow all applicable UAE safety requirements, site safety procedures, and manufacturer installation guidelines.

17. Assist in testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and final handover of installed equipment.

18. Complete installation works within project timelines while maintaining quality and workmanship standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma, ITI, vocational qualification, or relevant technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or a related trade.

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in commercial kitchen equipment installation, laundry equipment installation, MEP installation, or a related field.

• Strong practical experience installing gas, electrical, and steam-operated kitchen and laundry equipment.

• Good knowledge of plumbing, electrical, gas, and steam connection requirements for commercial equipment.

• Familiarity with UAE/local market sources and suppliers for plumbing, electrical, gas, pipes, fittings, valves, copper/brass materials, and related installation accessories.

• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools.

• Hands-on experience in brazing/welding of copper and brass tubes and fittings.

• Good knowledge of silicon/sealant application and professional finishing.

• Ability to carry out basic testing, leak detection, troubleshooting, and rectification of equipment connections.

• Ability to read basic technical drawings, equipment layouts, and installation instructions.

• Good understanding of site safety practices and safe handling of gas, electrical, steam, and other utility connections.

• Physically fit and comfortable working at project sites and in commercial kitchens/laundry areas.

• Good teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.

• Ability to work independently and complete installation tasks with minimum supervision.

• UAE driving license is an added advantage.
