We're hiring a Junior Production Engineer for our waterproofing manufacturing unit, which produces liquid-applied membranes, cementitious coatings, bitumen-based products and sealants for the construction industry. You'll run daily production on the plant floor and make sure every batch meets formulation, quality and safety standards. The role suits a fresh or early-career engineer who wants hands-on plant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Run daily production of waterproofing products, such as:
- Liquid-applied membranes (polyurethane, acrylic, polyurea-based)
- Cementitious waterproofing coatings and slurries
- Bitumen emulsions, primers and bituminous coatings
- Crystalline waterproofing, sealants and joint fillers
- Follow approved formulations, raw material weighing, mixing order and dispersion steps for each batch
- Monitor and record critical parameters: viscosity, solids content, temperature, mixing speed and time, pH and density
- Work with QC on in-process and finished-product tests (e.g., elongation, tensile strength, adhesion, curing time) and handle any off-spec batches
- Supervise filling and packing (pails, drums, bags), including correct labelling, batch coding and shelf-life marking
- Track raw material use (resins, bitumen, polymers, cement, fillers, additives, solvents), yields and wastage
- Coordinate with maintenance on mixers, dispersers, heating kettles and filling machines; support troubleshooting
- Enforce HSE practices for handling solvents, isocyanates, bitumen and powders, including PPE, ventilation, spill control, hot-work and fire safety
- Keep batch records, shift reports and documentation in line with ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
- Help with new product trials and scale-up from lab to plant together with R&D
- Suggest improvements to reduce cycle time, rework and material loss
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Polymer Engineering, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 0-5 years of experience in waterproofing, construction chemicals, paints, coatings or adhesives manufacturing
- Basic understanding of polymer chemistry, batch mixing and dispersion processes
- Knowledge of chemical handling and safety in a manufacturing plant
- Comfortable with MS Excel; ERP experience is an advantage
- Willing to work on the plant floor and on shifts when needed
- Good English; Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam or Arabic is a plus
- UAE driving license preferred
