QA QC Engineer - Waterproofing

Job summary

Oasis Investment Company (Al Shirawi Group) in Dubai is seeking a QA/QC Engineer for waterproofing works. You will monitor activities, review Method Statements, RA, ITPs and documentation, and coordinate inspections with consultants and main contractors to secure approvals.

You will handle WIRs, MIRs, NCRs and maintain QA/QC records. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in waterproofing, with knowledge of HDPE, APP/SBS, liquid waterproofing, cementitious coatings and polyurea

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in waterproofing works, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of waterproofing systems (HDPE, APP/SBS membranes, liquid-applied, cementitious, Polyurea).
• Experience in preparing and reviewing MS, RA, ITPs, checklists, WIRs, MIRs, NCR/SOR & O&M Manual.
• Good understanding of consultant inspection procedures, project specs and drawings.
• UAE driving license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor waterproofing activities across substructures, planters, roofs and balconies.
• Review Method Statements, RA, ITPs, checklists, and supplier data sheets.
• Coordinate site inspections with consultants and main contractors for approvals.
• Prepare and track WIRs, MIRs, and IRs; follow up on non-conformities.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, test reports, and as-builts.
• Coordinate with site engineers and contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with approved waterproofing systems and project specs.
• Monitor storage and handling of waterproofing materials.
• Prepare daily QA/QC and quality reports; ensure HSE compliance.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and inspect waterproofing activities, including substructure, Planter & Landscape, roof, wet areas, balconies.
• Review approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments, ITPs, checklists, material submittals, and technical data sheets.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate with consultants and main contractors for inspection approvals.
• Prepare, submit, track, and follow up on Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Inspection Requests (IRs).
• Ensure compliance with approved waterproofing systems, manufacturers' recommendations, and project specifications.
• Identify non-conformities, coordinate corrective actions, and follow up on NCR/SOR closure.
• Maintain inspection records, quality documentation, material approvals, test reports, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, consultants, and main contractors to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure that waterproofing materials are stored, handled, and applied as per approved requirements.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, quality reports, and project-specific QA/QC documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures and applicable HSE requirements.
• Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in waterproofing works, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of waterproofing systems, including HDPE, APP/SBS bituminous membranes, liquid-applied waterproofing, cementitious coatings, Combo & Polyurea waterproofing systems.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing MS, RA, ITPs, checklists, WIRs, MIRs, NCR/SOR & O&M Manual documentation.
• Good understanding of consultant inspection procedures, project specifications, and construction drawings.
• Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• UAE driving license is preferred.
