Job summary

Azizi Developments seeks a Junior FLS Designer to support Fire & Life Safety design across residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects in Dubai. You will work under the Senior FLS Designer in the Design 360 Studio, coordinating with Architecture, Structural, MEP and other teams to develop compliant, practical design solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and 2+ years in Fire & Life Safety design, with proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of Revit/BIM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required.
• At least 2 years of Fire & Life Safety design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM and related design software.
• Familiarity with UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, NFPA standards and local authority requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior FLS Designer in developing Fire & Life Safety design solutions for various projects.
• Prepare and update FLS drawings, layouts, details and design documentation.
• Assist in the development of fire protection, fire alarm, life safety and related FLS systems.
• Coordinate FLS requirements with Architecture, Structural, MEP and other design disciplines.
• Maintain accurate and organised project documentation and drawing records.

As a Junior FLS Designer, reporting to the Senior FLS Designer and working from our Design 360 Studio at the Al Hudaiba Awards office in Dubai, you will support the design and development of Fire & Life Safety (FLS) systems across a range of residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects. You will work closely with senior designers and multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated, compliant and practical design solutions.

Responsibilities include

• Assist the Senior FLS Designer in developing Fire & Life Safety design solutions for various projects
• Prepare and update FLS drawings, layouts, details and design documentation
• Assist in the development of fire protection, fire alarm, life safety and related FLS systems
• Support the preparation of design calculations, schedules, reports and technical documentation
• Coordinate FLS requirements with Architecture, Structural, MEP, Interior and other design disciplines
• Review drawings and designs to ensure alignment with project requirements, applicable codes and authority regulations
• Assist in addressing design comments and coordinating revisions with internal teams and consultants
• Support the Senior FLS Designer during design reviews, coordination meetings and technical discussions
• Maintain accurate and organised project documentation and drawing records
• Carry out other FLS design-related tasks as assigned by the Senior FLS Designer

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
• At least 2 years of experience in Fire & Life Safety / Fire Protection design, preferably within a consultancy, design studio or engineering environment
• Basic understanding of fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarm, firefighting, smoke control and means of escape
• Familiarity with relevant UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, NFPA standards and local authority requirements is preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM and other relevant design software
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings
• Good coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary design team
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced design environment
• Previous experience on high-rise, residential, hospitality or mixed-use projects in the UAE is an advantage
