Job summary

SIBCA ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT COMPANY LIMITED is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the design and coordination of life safety systems including Fire Alarm, PAVA, Emergency Lighting and related BIM models. You will develop designs, prepare shop drawings, and ensure compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Codes, NFPA 72 and NFPA 101, working with project teams and authorities.

The role requires coordinating with project managers, BIM modelers, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering

Job description

The Design Engineer is responsible for the design development and coordination of life safety systems including Fire Alarm Public Address and Voice Alarm PAVA and Emergency Lighting systems The role involves preparing design and shop drawings ensuring compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Code NFPA standards project specifications and client requirements The Design Engineer will work closely with project teams clients authorities sales teams and BIM modelers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop life safety systems including Fire Alarm PAVA and Emergency Lighting systems in compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Code NFPA 72 and NFPA 101 requirements
• Prepare detailed design drawings shop drawings and coordinated layouts based on project specifications and execution requirements
• Coordinate with Project Managers and participate in weekly project progress meetings to monitor design deliverables and project status
• Develop and review system designs using AutoCAD 2D and Revit software
• Guide BIM modelers in resolving clashes and maintaining coordinated Revit models
• Perform engineering calculations including Voltage Drop Calculations Battery Capacity Calculations Emergency Lighting Lux Level Calculations Sound Pressure Level SPL Calculations for PAVA systems
• Prepare designs based on project specifications material submittals and BOQ requirements
• Support sales pre-sales and post-sales teams by providing conceptual and detailed engineering drawings
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information and ensure compliance with project requirements
• Attend meetings with clients consultants contractors and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense ADCD on design-related matters
• Maintain project documentation drawing registers approved shop drawing records and design files
• Coordinate with production and project execution teams during the development and implementation stages
• Monitor and ensure the quality and accuracy of engineering deliverables and approved shop drawings
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle from design development through project handover

Qualifications

• Experience strong Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Experience in the design and development of Life Safety Systems Fire Alarm PAVA and Emergency Lighting Proven experience working on Abu Dhabi-based projects Knowledge of UAE Fire and Life Safety Code NFPA 72 and NFPA 101 standards Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Revit Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection processes 6-8 years of experience in a design engineering role, with a focus on reviewing and approving shop drawings.
• Proven experience working in environments involving engineering, construction projects.
• Hands-on experience with REVIT-MEP (BIM Modeler) or similar tools is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with contractors, consultants, and authorities for drawing approvals.
