Job summary

Sage Metrics Services is seeking a Jr. Estimation Engineer to support cost estimation activities for water treatment projects in Sharjah.

The role involves reviewing mechanical drawings, performing material take-offs, and preparing BOQs and technical proposals. The candidate should have experience interpreting mechanical drawings, knowledge of water treatment equipment, and strong Excel skills; AutoCAD familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in BOQ preparation with strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings used in water treatment industry.
• Must have knowledge of mechanical equipments used in the water treatment industry such as flanges, pumps etc.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel with good communication and coordination skills
• Good to have AutoCAD skills

Responsibilities

• Review and understand mechanical equipment drawings and layouts used in water treatment systems (e.g., pump stations, flanges, filtration units, piping & valve arrangements).
• Perform material and quantity take-offs based on approved drawings and technical specifications using AutoCAD/PDF documents.
• Prepare cost estimations, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and support proposal preparation.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to verify material requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial estimation documents.
• Update and maintain cost databases, supplier quotations, and estimation templates.
• Ensure all estimation work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within deadlines.
• Remain accessible and available during holidays or post work for any emergency work requirement as instructed by the team lead.
