Job summary

Sage Metrics Services in Sharjah is seeking a Jr. Estimation Engineer to support cost estimation for water treatment projects. The role involves reviewing mechanical drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and preparing BOQs and cost estimates using AutoCAD/PDF documents.

You will coordinate with engineering and procurement teams, update cost databases, and help prepare technical and commercial estimation documents while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in BOQ preparation with strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings used in water treatment industry
• Must have knowledge of mechanical equipments used in the water treatment industry such as flanges, pumps etc.
• Preferred bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel with good communication and coordination skills
• Good to have AutoCAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand mechanical equipment drawings and layouts used in water treatment systems (e.g., pump stations, flanges, filtration units, piping & valve arrangements).
• Perform material and quantity take-offs based on approved drawings and technical specifications using AutoCAD/PDF documents.
• Prepare cost estimations, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and support proposal preparation.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to verify material requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial estimation documents.
• Update and maintain cost databases, supplier quotations, and estimation templates.
• Ensure all estimation work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within deadlines.
• Remain accessible and available during holidays or post work for any emergency work requirement as instructed by the team lead.
