Job summary

Client requires an Estimation Engineer to review mechanical drawings and layouts for water treatment systems, perform material take-offs, and prepare BOQs and cost estimates. You will coordinate with engineering and procurement to verify material requirements and support proposal preparation.

Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD is preferred, along with a mechanical engineering background. Applicants should be located in UAE, ideally on a spouse visa or current local residency, with at least 1 year

Qualifications

• Experience in BOQ preparation and interpreting mechanical drawings used in water treatment.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment in water treatment such as flanges and pumps.
• Proficiency in Excel and strong communication/coordination skills.
• Location in UAE with spouse visa is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and layouts for water treatment systems and prepare BOQ.
• Perform material take-offs from approved drawings and specifications using AutoCAD/PDFs.
• Prepare cost estimations, BOQs, and support proposals.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement to verify material requirements.
• Update cost databases and estimation templates; ensure deadlines are met.
• Be available during holidays or post-work for emergencies as instructed.

Job description

Review and understand mechanical equipment drawings and layouts used in water treatment systems (e.g., pump stations, flanges, filtration units, piping & valve arrangements).

Perform material and quantity take-offs based on approved drawings and technical specifications using AutoCAD/PDF documents.

Prepare cost estimations, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and support proposal preparation.

Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to verify material requirements.

Assist in preparing technical and commercial estimation documents.

Update and maintain cost databases, supplier quotations, and estimation templates.

Ensure all estimation work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within deadlines.

Remain accessible and available during holidays or post work for any emergency work requirement as instructed by the team lead.

Skills & Qualifications

Must have experience in BOQ preparation with strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings used in water treatment industry

Must have knowledge of mechanical equipments used in the water treatment industry such as flanges, pumps etc.

Strongly prefer candidates who are on spouse visa and must be currently in the location.

Preferred bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering

Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel with good communication and coordination skills

Good to have AutoCAD skills

Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience working as an estimation engineer with expertise in BOQ preparation and material take-off with strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings used in the water treatment industry

Candidate must have knowledge of mechanical equipments used in the water treatment industry such as flanges, pumps etc.

Candidate must be able to read from the mechanical drawings and create BOQ and estimation
