Job summary

Vista is seeking a multifaceted Junior Commercial Counsel to support its growth across Vista’s products, including VistaJet and XO. You will join an international legal team in a high-growth environment, gaining autonomy from day one and contributing across the business in an aviation context.

The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, reviewing marketing materials, coordinating with Sales, Operations, and HR, and supporting litigation activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified attorney admitted to practice law in England & Wales.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role and/or with relevant law firm experience.
• Demonstrable contract drafting and negotiating experience.
• Commercially minded with attention to detail.
• Capable project manager with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and edit commercial legal agreements (e.g., charter and flight service contracts, licenses, leases, NDAs).
• Negotiate agreements directly with third parties and counsel.
• Understand product goals and drive efficient processes.
• Lead cross-department projects from scoping to implementation.
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide practical legal guidance to a global team.
• Review customer-facing marketing materials and communications.
• Assist with global litigation portfolio and e-discovery matters.

Your Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and edit commercial legal agreements (including charter and flight service contracts, loyalty and referral programs, marketing and publicity agreements, website and app T&Cs, licenses, leases, vendor contracts, SLAs, MSAs, NDAs, etc.).


• Negotiate agreements directly with third parties, including clients and their counsel.


• Develop a solid understanding of the company’s product and business goals.


• Develop and implement sound processes and procedures to drive efficiency.


• Lead cross-departmental projects from scoping to implementation.


• Build and nurture strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.


• Help coordinate and triage team projects.


• Mentor junior colleagues.


• Provide pragmatic, deal‑minded support and advice to a global business team.


• Review and approve customer‑facing marketing materials and communications.


• Assist with the global litigation portfolio (investigations, letters before action, cease & desists, e‑discovery, mediations, settlement and releases, etc.).


• Use and maintain the company’s document, template, and contract repositories.


• Prepare and present tailored training sessions as part of our in‑house training program.


• Monitor legal developments, conduct legal research, and advise leadership.


• Support a wide range of projects and teams on an as‑needed basis, from HR and Tax to Aircraft Maintenance and Operations.


• Other tasks as may be required.

Required Skills, Qualifications, And Experience

• Qualified attorney (solicitor or barrister/advocate) admitted to practice law in England & Wales.


• Minimum 3 years in a similar role and/or with relevant law firm experience.


• Demonstrable contract drafting and negotiating experience.


• Commercially minded dealmaker with a lawyer’s attention to detail.


• Capable project manager with a knack for pushing tasks forward efficiently.


• Entrepreneurial; "no project too small" attitude.


• Highly communicative with a strong 'soft skills' set.


• Excellent interpersonal skills – able to translate legal matters to non‑legal audience.


• Process driven, but not dependent – able to think outside the box and tackle matters of first impression.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working directly with a sales team.


• Experience working in an international company / with an international client base.


• Exposure to commercial litigation, consumer law and contentious/non‑contentious employment law.


• Knowledge of - or interest in - aviation, luxury, or travel industries.
