Job summary

Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority is seeking an entry-level Accountant to perform and support a range of accounting and financial activities. You will maintain financial records, assist with budgets and year-end processes, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

The role involves processing supplier invoices, payroll data, journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of periodic financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or an equivalent qualification.
• 0-2 years of working experience in same field.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy and enter into accounting system.
• Prepare payment orders and monitor payment due dates.
• Collect monthly payroll data and record payroll journal entries.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and review account balances.
• Record and post journal entries to the General Ledger (GL).
• Assist in preparing the trial balance and monthly/annual closing activities.
• Verify payroll accuracy and prepare monthly payment files.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required supporting documents.
• Prepare periodic financial reports related to accounts and submit by deadlines.
• Review and verify financial documents, expense receipts, and purchase documents for accuracy.
• Process payments including salaries, allowances and bonuses, cheques, transfers, and other disbursements with supporting documents.
• Ensure petty cash controls and reconciliation; review supporting documents.
• Adhere to Information Security Policy and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
