Job summary

Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Pvt. Ltd. in Dubai is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. You will assist with day-to-day accounting, manage accounts payable and receivable, and support month-end closing.

Key duties include bank reconciliations, data entry in the ERP system, and assisting with UAE VAT returns and audit preparation. 2+ years GCC/UAE experience and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on general accounting experience within the GCC/UAE.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Software Skills: ERP software experience (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of IFRS, double-entry bookkeeping, and UAE VAT concepts.
• Soft Skills: Strong numerical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, verify payments, prepare customer statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform routine bank reconciliations, and verify intercompany transactions.
• Record daily financial transactions into the ERP system accurately, ensuring proper filing of invoices, receipts, and vouchers.
• Support month-end closing procedures, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
• Assist with compiling basic financial documentation for UAE VAT returns and statutory audit preparation.

About the Role

In this role, you will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, manage accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and support the senior finance team with month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, verify payments, prepare customer statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
