The ITS Engineer will provide technical and site supervision support for Intelligent Transportation Systems installed across road and infrastructure developments. The position combines systems engineering, field inspection, network integration, testing, contractor coordination, and documentation to ensure that traffic technology is installed and commissioned in accordance with approved designs and contractual requirements. Working closely with the Resident Engineer, senior ITS specialists, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams, the engineer will help integrate roadside devices, communications networks, power infrastructure, central systems, and supporting civil works. Accurate testing and interface management will be essential to achieving reliable system performance and successful final handover.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering with ITS experience, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience is required, preferably involving Intelligent Transportation Systems, road technology, telecommunications, traffic systems, or major infrastructure projects.
Candidates should be familiar with RTA and SRTA standards and procedures and understand the technical requirements associated with network architecture, cybersecurity, communications, and transportation system integration.
Practical knowledge of NTCIP, ONVIF, PoE, SNMP, VLANs, and IP-based communications is important.
Experience with CAD, GIS, and relevant engineering design tools is required.
Candidates should also understand the structural requirements associated with ITS poles, gantries, cabinets, foundations, and roadside equipment.
Experience interpreting civil, electrical, and mechanical drawings is essential for effective multidisciplinary coordination.
Knowledge of virtual machine environments, Linux, and Windows systems is valuable.
Previous ITS or SCADA deployment experience within tunnels would be an advantage, while CCNA certification is also beneficial.
