Job summary

BlackStone eIT in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced IT Systems Engineer to provide onsite consultancy for an enterprise IT environment. You will review, troubleshoot, and enhance performance, availability, security, and reliability across Microsoft infrastructure, Cisco collaboration, VMware, servers, storage, backup, incident management, and IT service management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management and troubleshooting within reputable organizations.
• Strong experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and systems.
• Experience with L2/L3 infrastructure support.
• Strong troubleshooting and RCA capabilities.
• Experience with Disaster Recovery and DR drill execution.
• Experience working within an ITIL framework.
• Experience participating in Major Incident Management.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to provide onsite consultancy and technical expertise for an enterprise IT environment.

The consultant will be responsible for reviewing, assessing, troubleshooting, and providing recommendations to enhance the performance, availability, security, and reliability of the organization's IT infrastructure.

The role will cover Microsoft infrastructure, Cisco collaboration, VMware virtualization and Disaster Recovery, servers and storage, backup, incident management, and IT service management.

Key Responsibilities

• Review IT systems and infrastructure performance and provide technical recommendations.
• Ensure high availability, optimal performance, security, and reliability of IT systems.
• Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) for system-related incidents and recommend effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop plans to improve application availability and performance.
• Develop forecasts for server and storage growth based on business requirements.
• Provide technical recommendations regarding infrastructure improvements and emerging technologies.
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and participate in DR drill execution.
• Develop capacity planning, risk management, and Business Continuity Plans in line with applicable ISO standards.
• Support compliance with UAE IA Standards, NESA, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for systems operations.
• Support the development and maintenance of IT security policies, processes, standards, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure IT solutions and implementations are secure, reliable, cost-effective, and fit for purpose.
• Develop and maintain a documented roadmap for systems and infrastructure products.
• Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and third parties to ensure industry best practices are followed.
• Provide L2/L3 support for infrastructure incidents.
• Participate in Major Incident Management (MIM) activities.
• Work within an ITIL framework.

The consultant should have hands-on knowledge and consultancy experience across the following technologies:

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or master's degree in:
