Job summary

Tanqeeb, in Abu Dhabi, seeks an experienced Section Head – IT Operations to lead a confidential government entity’s technology environment, ensuring secure, reliable operations and ongoing service quality.

You will manage on‑premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, OCI), ITSM and service desk, security operations, disaster recovery, vendor contracts and asset governance, all aligned with Abu Dhabi Government information security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years of IT operations/infrastructure/cloud/service management experience with leadership.
• Experience managing critical IT infrastructure, production applications, IT service desk, vendors and enterprise technology environments.
• Government or large-enterprise experience desirable.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS/Azure/OCI, CISSP or CISM are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure and operations across on-premise and cloud environments, including AWS, Azure and OCI.
• Oversee IT Service Management (ITSM), service desk, incident, problem, change and request management.
• Ensure high availability, business continuity, disaster recovery and operational resilience.
• Lead day-to-day IT security operations and ensure alignment with Abu Dhabi Government information security standards.
• Oversee production application support, patching, upgrades and operational handovers.
• Manage IT vendors, contracts, SLAs, licensing, assets and cloud cost governance.
• Monitor IT service performance, risks, KPIs and operational improvement initiatives.
