Job summary

Vopak Netherlands is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and expand VHFL's IT infrastructure and cloud-based systems. You will manage budgets, vendor contracts, and maintain high uptime while aligning with global IT standards. The role covers disaster recovery, security, and governance across local and remote/cloud environments.

The candidate should have a IT-focused degree with several years of experience, English proficiency, and strong collaboration with global IT teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute management and expansion of VHFL's IT infrastructure and cloud-based systems.
• Prepare annual IT infrastructure budget with Finance.
• Manage vendor contracts, SLAs, and AMCs.
• Maintain high network uptime with redundant ISPs, SD-WAN, monitoring tools.
• Design, test, and document high-availability failover and cloud backups.
• liaison with Vopak Global IT and Division IT teams for alignment.
• Coordinate servers, network devices, firewalls, and shared software upgrades.
• Ensure secure connectivity and business continuity for local and remote/cloud workflows.
• Oversee 24/7 stability and uptime across servers and core software.
• Oversee IT helpdesk operations and end-user support.
• Provide cybersecurity awareness training for employees.
• Enforce access controls and data protection per regulations and policies.
• Oversee IT governance, risk management, and audits.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Strategy & Budget Management

• Lead, direct, and execute the operational management and future expansion of VHFL's IT infrastructure and cloud-based systems.


• Prepare the annual IT infrastructure budget in coordination with the Finance department.


• Manage negotiations, contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) with vendors, contractors, and service providers.

2. Network Availability & Disaster Recovery

• Maintain high network uptime across terminal operations using redundant ISP connections, robust SD-WAN architectures, and continuous monitoring tools.


• Design, document, and regularly test high-availability failover mechanisms, off-site recovery procedures, and cloud backup systems for critical business applications.

3. Global IT Alignment & Infrastructure Operations

• Manage overall IT infrastructure administration at the terminal, serving as the primary liaison with Vopak Global IT and Division IT teams.


• Coordinate the installation, configuration, and upgrading of servers, network devices, firewalls, and shared software in alignment with global IT standards.


• Ensure seamless, secure system connectivity and business continuity for both local environments and remote/cloud-based workflows.

4. Systems Maintenance & Technical Support

• Maintain 24/7 stability, performance, and uptime across all physical/virtual servers, hardware, and core software systems.


• Oversee IT helpdesk operations to provide fast technical support and troubleshooting for end-users.


• Conduct cybersecurity awareness training and guidance for employees.

5. Data Security, Compliance & Governance

• Enforce access controls, cybersecurity protocols, and data protection strategies in compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.


• Oversee IT governance, risk management frameworks, and system audit readiness across all business units.

Knowledge and Skills

Bachelor’s in engineering in IT with minimum three years of experience or IT degree with minimum five years of experience in similar field

IT Certification preferred

Good knowledge of computer programs such as spread sheets and word.

Awareness of customer needs.

Sound oral and written knowledge of English.

Must be a team player.
