Job summary

Aventus in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly motivated Private Equity Associate to join the Private Markets investment team. You will support evaluation, execution and ongoing management of private equity investments across regional and international markets, including direct investments, co-investments and fund commitments.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically strong Private Equity Associate to join the Private Markets investment team of a leading Abu Dhabi-based buyside firm.

The successful candidate will support the evaluation, execution and ongoing management of private equity investments across regional and international markets. The role will provide exposure to direct investments, co-investments and fund investments, working closely with senior investment professionals to identify attractive opportunities and deliver long‑term, risk‑adjusted returns.

The position offers the opportunity to work within a sophisticated institutional investment platform, deploying capital across a diversified global private equity portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Execution

• Support the sourcing, screening and evaluation of private equity investment opportunities across multiple sectors and geographies.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, company valuations and investment modelling, including LBO, DCF and comparable company analysis.
• Assist in the execution of direct investments, co-investments and private equity fund commitments.
• Participate in financial, commercial and operational due diligence alongside external advisers and investment partners.

• Assess investment opportunities based on expected returns, downside protection, strategic fit and portfolio diversification.

Market Research & Investment Strategy

• Conduct detailed sector and market research to identify attractive investment themes.
• Monitor global private equity activity, transaction valuations and macroeconomic developments.
• Support the development of investment strategies aligned with the pension fund's long‑term investment objectives.
• Prepare research materials and strategic recommendations for the wider investment team.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• CFA, CAIA, ACA or an MBA would be advantageous.

Professional Experience

• Approximately 3–6 years of relevant experience within Private Equity, Investment Banking (M&A), Transaction Advisory or an institutional investment platform.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and transaction analysis capabilities.
• Demonstrated exposure to M&A transactions, private equity investments or investment due diligence.
• Experience working on direct investments, co-investments or fund investments would be highly advantageous.
• Previous experience within a sovereign wealth fund, pension fund, family office or global investment manager would be beneficial.
• Exposure to international markets, particularly Europe, North America and the GCC, would be advantageous.
