Job summary

Black Pearl Consult is recruiting a Senior Investment Analyst in Abu Dhabi to support the Investment Team. You will source and evaluate private equity opportunities, build complex financial models, and assist due diligence and investment documentation.

The role reports to the Chief Investment Officer and involves monitoring portfolio performance and coordinating with external parties to optimize returns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with strong economics background; MBA preferred.
• 3–5 years in investment banking, strategic consulting, and PE experience.
• Prior experience in a Private Family Office with Direct Investments, Co-Investments and Joint Ventures is a plus.
• Outstanding research, financial modelling, analytical and valuation skills.
• Superior interpersonal communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Sources, researches, analyzes and evaluates PE opportunities and supports overall evaluation.

We are currently searching for a Sr. Investment Analyst -Private Equityto join the Investment Team of our client in Abu Dhabi. In this role, the person will function as an integralpart of a close-knit group of investment professionals. Reporting directly tothe Chief Investment Officer, you will provide support in thesourcing, research, analysis, and evaluation of private equity direct andco-investment opportunities and in the monitoring of the financial performance ofportfolio companies and funds. Other responsibilities will include but notlimited to:

• Sources, researches, analysesand evaluates a variety of private equity investment opportunities andcontributes to the overall evaluation process
• Develops complex dynamicfinancial models and valuation analysis including DCF, LBO, precedenttransactions and comparable company analysis
• Takes part in due diligenceactivities which include appraisal of company’s past and projectedfinancial performance, quality of its management teams, investment meritsand risks, expected returns, regulatory investment, market attractiveness,industry dynamics, company competitive position and other relevant dealreturn drivers
• Makes recommendations basedon the results of the team’s due diligence and analysis
• Assists in the negotiationand execution of investment agreements and other transaction-related legaldocumentations
• Analyses potential fundinvestment opportunities which include the evaluation of fund manager’strack record, investment strategy, value-add, and investment team
• Drafts internal fundinvestment proposals for approval of the Investment Committee
• Assists in negotiating,structuring and completing fund documentations
• Coordinates with internalgroups in the monitoring of ongoing investments
• Monitors ongoing financial performanceof portfolio companies and funds and overseas the reviews of valuations

Requirements

To be considered forthe job, you need to meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree with astrong economic background, preferably with an MBA
  
• 3-5 years of progressiveexperience in investment banking, strategic consulting, and a must experience in private equity
  
• Prior experience of workingin a ‘Private Family Office’ investment company, with a blend ofexperience covering Direct Investments, Co-Investments and Joint Ventures is plus
  
• Must have outstandingresearch, financial modelling, analytical and valuation skills
  
• Must possess superiorinterpersonal communication and presentation skills
  
• Experience in drivingimportant work streams in private equity investments or M&A work,conducting due diligence and working with external parties
  
• Must be a strong team playerwith demonstrated ability and interest in working closely with teammembers and delivering quality work under tight schedules
