Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor with a strong background in the contracting/construction industry. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing financial and operational processes, evaluating internal controls, identifying risks and irregularities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Arabic-speaking candidates with relevant contracting company experience will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular internal audits of financial and operational activities.
• Review accounting transactions, payments, expenses, purchase orders, invoices, and supporting documents.
• Audit project costs, subcontractor payments, supplier transactions, petty cash, payroll, and other project-related expenses.
• Review procurement and payment processes to ensure proper approvals and compliance with company policies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, errors, and potential fraud risks.
• Verify compliance with approved budgets, contracts, policies, and management procedures.
• Conduct periodic site/project audits when required.
• Prepare detailed internal audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommended corrective actions.
• Follow up with concerned departments to ensure audit observations and recommendations are properly addressed.
• Assist management in strengthening financial controls and reducing operational and financial risks.
• Maintain confidentiality and independence while performing audit activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
• Previous Internal Audit experience is mandatory.
• Experience in a contracting/construction company is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of project costing, procurement, subcontractor transactions, and contracting operations.
• Good knowledge of internal controls, audit procedures, and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Arabic-speaking is mandatory.
• Good working knowledge of English.
• Ability to prepare professional audit reports and effectively communicate findings to management.
