Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualified, preferably from ICAI or an equivalent recognised professional body.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in UAE.
• Experience with contracting or construction projects and project accounting.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Strong IFRS and financial reporting skills; month-end closing.

Responsibilities

Job Overview We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in contracting or construction companies. Our client is a UAE-based natural stone specialist providing premium marble and granite solutions for residential, commercial, hospitality and landmark projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial accounting, project costing, financial reporting, compliance and day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and effective cost control across projects. Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including General Ledger GL Accounts Payable AP Accounts Receivable AR and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements management reports MIS and project-wise Profit Loss statements
• Monitor project costs budgets actual expenditure and cost variances to ensure effective cost control
• Handle project accounting including Work-in-Progress WIP Cost-to-Complete CTC revenue recognition and project profitability analysis
• Review supplier invoices subcontractor bills payment certificates retention amounts and project-related expenses
• Monitor customer collections supplier payments outstanding balances and cash flow
• Maintain accurate records of inventory material purchases stock movements consumption and project-related material costs
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities accruals provisions and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT Corporate Tax IFRS and other applicable statutory requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide supporting schedules and documentation for audits
• Support budgeting forecasting financial analysis and improvements in accounting processes
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal financial controls and company policies

Mandatory

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualified, preferably from ICAI or an equivalent recognised professional body.Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.Proven experience working with a contracting or construction company.Strong understanding of project accounting, project costing, cost control, WIP and revenue recognition.Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.Good understanding of IFRS, financial reporting and month-end closing.Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and coordinate with multiple departments.
