Role Context
The Interior Designer contributes to the development of spaces that balance aesthetics, functionality, technical performance, and user experience. The position works across concept development, material selection, spatial planning, technical coordination, and presentation activities while ensuring that interior design intent remains aligned with project requirements, applicable codes, and local cultural considerations. Strong coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines is essential to convert creative ideas into practical and deliverable environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop interior design concepts that respond to client objectives, user needs, project context, and functional requirements.
- Translate design briefs into coordinated spatial layouts, finishes, material palettes, and interior design solutions.
- Prepare mood boards, concept presentations, design narratives, and visual materials for internal and client reviews.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and specialist consultants throughout design development.
- Coordinate interior layouts with structural, MEP, lighting, architectural, and building services requirements.
- Develop space planning solutions that optimize circulation, functionality, comfort, and user experience.
- Select finishes, materials, fixtures, furniture, and interior elements appropriate to project requirements.
- Review material options for aesthetics, durability, maintainability, availability, and technical suitability.
- Incorporate Dubai market preferences and cultural considerations into relevant design decisions.
- Ensure interior design solutions comply with applicable building codes, project standards, and technical requirements.
- Prepare and review drawings, schedules, specifications, and other interior design documentation.
- Resolve design coordination issues affecting ceilings, partitions, flooring, joinery, furniture, lighting, and building services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and communicate required revisions to relevant team members.
- Respond to client feedback and refine design proposals while maintaining project intent.
- Support development of coordinated design packages through concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
- Review drawings and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before issue.
- Coordinate with suppliers and specialist consultants when technical product information is required.
- Monitor assigned design tasks against agreed project schedules and delivery milestones.
- Maintain organized records of design revisions, material selections, approvals, and project correspondence.
- Contribute to design quality reviews and support continuous improvement of interior design outputs.
Ideal Profile
- Degree or professional qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in interior design within architecture, consultancy, hospitality, commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, and interior detailing.
- Ability to develop creative concepts while addressing practical and technical constraints.
- Experience coordinating interior design with architectural and engineering disciplines.
- Good knowledge of drawing production and design documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with local building regulations and UAE design practices is advantageous.
- Strong visual judgment and attention to proportion, composition, materiality, and detail.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly through drawings, presentations, and design discussions.
- Capable of managing multiple design tasks while meeting project deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing drawings, finishes, schedules, and technical information.
