Job summary

AECOM Middle East Ltd in Dubai is seeking an Architect - Urban Design and Planning to lead multidisciplinary design efforts across large-scale projects, translating client briefs into coordinated architectural and urban design solutions.

You will collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, and planners through concept, schematic, and detailed design stages, ensuring adherence to local codes and standards, and producing robust technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Architecture or Urban Design preferred.
• Strong grounding in architectural design and urban design principles.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural and urban design development across multidisciplinary projects.
• Translate project requirements into coordinated architectural concepts and design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Architecture.
• Postgraduate qualification in Architecture or Urban Design.
• Strong academic and professional grounding in architectural design and built-environment planning.
• International professional accreditation such as RIBA, AIA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Local Authority Architect registration is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary architectural and engineering teams.
• Good understanding of architectural design processes from early concept through coordinated documentation.
• Familiarity with urban design principles and their relationship to buildings, public realm, and broader development context.
• Strong attention to design quality, coordination, and technical accuracy.
• Ability to interpret project briefs and translate requirements into practical design responses.
• Effective communication skills for working with technical teams, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Experience within a major consultancy or complex design environment is advantageous.
