Job summary

Al Ain Consulting Engineers LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a senior Interior Design BIM specialist to lead a team of BIM modelers and develop detailed interior design models using Revit.

Coordinate with Architecture, MEP, and Landscape disciplines, review drawings, produce schedules, and ensure QA/QC throughout Design Development to IFC stages. UAE/GCC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Interior Design BIM modeling, documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience leading or coordinating a BIM modeling team or Interior Design BIM workstream.
• Experience in architectural, engineering, or multidisciplinary design consultancies preferred.
• UAE or GCC project experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of interior design construction documentation, materials, finishes, joinery, millwork, ceilings, wet areas, and detailing.
• Experience across residential, hospitality, commercial, workplace, retail, and public-sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Interior Design BIM modelers including task allocation and progress monitoring.
• Review models and drawings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards.
• Develop, maintain, and coordinate detailed Interior Design BIM models in Revit.
• Translate design intent into coordinated BIM models and technical docs.
• Produce and review interior design drawings (plans, elevations, sections, RCPs, finish plans, schedules, details).
• Develop coordinated packages for joinery, millwork, ceilings, flooring, finishes, and FF&E interfaces.
• Coordinate BIM models with Architecture, Structural, MEP, Landscape, and other disciplines.
• Conduct model coordination reviews, identify clashes, and support resolutions.
• Implement BIM Execution Plan, standards, naming conventions, and information requirements.
• Set up and maintain Revit project files, templates, worksets, links, families, and schedules.
• Perform BIM audits and QA/QC to ensure model health and documentation quality.
• Support preparation and delivery of Interior Design packages through all stages (Concept to IFC).
• Maintain organized BIM models and data within the common data environment.
• Mentor BIM modelers to improve capability and consistency.
• Coordinate with Interior Designers, Technical Designers, BIM teams, and PMs to meet milestones.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in Interior Design BIM modeling, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a team of BIM modelers or managing an Interior Design BIM workstream.
• Previous experience within an architectural, engineering, or multidisciplinary design consultancy is strongly preferred.
• UAE or GCC project experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Interior Design construction documentation, materials, finishes, joinery, millwork, ceilings, wet areas, and technical detailing.
• Experience working across multiple project types, such as residential, hospitality, commercial, workplace, retail, community, or public-sector developments.

Essential Software Skills

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Interior Design BIM modelers, including task allocation, technical guidance, workload planning, and progress monitoring.
• Review models and drawings produced by the team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements and company standards.
• Develop, maintain, and coordinate detailed Interior Design BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Translate approved design intent into coordinated BIM models and technical documentation.
• Produce and review Interior Design drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, schedules, and construction details.
• Develop coordinated packages for joinery, millwork, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, wet areas, FF&E interfaces, and specialist Interior Design elements.
• Coordinate Interior Design models with Architecture, Structural, MEP, Landscape, and other relevant disciplines.
• Conduct model coordination reviews, identify clashes and interface issues, and work with multidisciplinary teams to support their resolution.
• Implement the project BIM Execution Plan, modeling standards, naming conventions, information requirements, and agreed project workflows.
• Set up and maintain Revit project files, templates, worksets, links, families, parameters, materials, and schedules.
• Conduct BIM model audits and QA/QC reviews to ensure model health, information completeness, and documentation quality.
• Support the preparation and delivery of Interior Design packages through Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, Tender, and IFC stages.
• Maintain organized BIM models, drawing packages, linked files, and project information within the agreed common data environment.
• Support and mentor BIM modelers, helping improve team capability, consistency, and technical performance.
• Coordinate closely with Interior Designers, Technical Designers, BIM teams, and Project Managers to achieve project milestones and submission deadlines.
