Job summary

Agile Consultants in the UAE seeks an experienced Instrumentation Technician for a role in Abu Dhabi to support paper manufacturing operations. You will perform calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of sensors, transmitters, valves and related control loops, ensuring reliable process automation.

Ideal candidates have hands-on PLC/DCS experience, read instrumentation diagrams, and coordinate with electrical, mechanical and production teams to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in the paper manufacturing industry.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation and control systems used in paper mills is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of sensors, transmitters, control valves, and control loops.
• Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and process control systems.
• Experience working with PLC/DCS systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, calibration, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair sensors, transmitters, control valves, switches, and control loops.
• Identify and resolve instrumentation faults to minimize equipment downtime.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation systems.
• Monitor and maintain instrumentation used for process control and automation within the paper mill.
• Work with PLC/DCS systems for monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic fault identification.
• Calibrate and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, level, and other process measuring instruments.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and testing of new instrumentation and control equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of calibration, maintenance activities, equipment breakdowns, and repairs.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and maintenance standards while carrying out instrumentation work.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and production teams to resolve equipment and process-related issues.
