The Instrument Technician will provide hands-on maintenance support for instrumentation, process monitoring, control, and protective systems used across plant operations. The role covers routine servicing, emergency repairs, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, shutdown support, and system modifications. Reliable instrumentation is essential to maintaining stable plant operation, protecting equipment, and preventing unexpected process trips. The technician will therefore verify completed work carefully, monitor developing faults, and maintain control equipment in accordance with approved standards and plant procedures.
The position requires a Technical Diploma or a Secondary School Certificate supported by a vocational trade certificate in a relevant instrumentation, electrical, control, or technical discipline. Candidates should have at least 4 years of relevant experience in instrumentation maintenance, process control systems, industrial plant maintenance, or a closely related technical field. Practical experience troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and testing process control instruments is essential. Candidates should understand preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, plant shutdown activities, relay logic, control loops, field instrumentation, and protective equipment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with plant change requests, control system modifications, equipment retrofits, and technical drawing updates. Strong attention to accuracy is required because calibration and testing activities directly influence process stability, equipment protection, and plant reliability.
