Job summary

MPH Consulting Services JLT is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for an ERTMS project in the United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on coordinating design activities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and managing interfaces across engineering and subsystems.

Responsibilities include directing subcontractor designers, routing cables in technical rooms and along track systems, and using BIM/CAD to define interfaces and support client decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical works within railway engineering.
• Experience with BIM and CAD for interface management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ERTMS project complies with contract system requirements and local regulations.
• Instruct subcontractor designers to route cables within technical rooms and along the track system.
• Manage technical interfaces between engineering installation works and subsystems.
• Represent the installation engineering team and support design choices with the client.
• Proficiently use BIM and CAD for interface definition and management as part of the project delivery strategy.

Job description

Ensure that the ERTMS project complies with the contract system requirements and local electrical regulations Design and instruct subcontractor designers to route cables within technical rooms and along the track system managing filling ratios challenging existing pathways and proposing new ones Manage and seek resolution of technical interfaces between engineering installation works and technological systems subsystems Ensure the application of quality procedures for document issuance at every stage of design Identify critical issues in project development and propose mitigation actions Represent the installation engineering team and support design choices with the client Proficiently use BIM and CAD software for interface definition and management as part of the project delivery strategy according to the Engineering Management Plan 5 to 10 years of experience in Electrical Works within the Railway Engineering context, especially in construction and installation design. Additional expertise in the railway context is considered a plus.

Operational Competencies:

• Survey field locations and gather information on existing infrastructure to complete installation design when necessary.
• Identify, understand, and overcome installation challenges during design development.
• Size pathways and raceways, considering existing conditions and filling.
• Familiarity with Requirements Traceability Matrix and Interface Registers tools.
• Design management of contractor and subcontractor activities: contract requirements and design process control.
• Previous construction experience is a plus.
• Demonstrate critical attention to detail and be self-motivated.
• Ability to adapt well to changes in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.
