Job summary

Dautom collaborates with a globally recognized client to deliver hardware engineering projects in the UAE. The role involves designing, packaging, and planning transportation infrastructure, with hands-on use of AutoCAD and strong coordination across teams.

You will oversee the engineering life cycle, ensure compliance with standards, and prepare technical proposals and reports. A UAE driving license is required for field activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with hardware design, packaging, and civil/mechanical design is advantageous.
• Willingness to coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.

About the role

Performs project related engineering tasks including hardware design, component selection, toll lane layout, and packaging. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering life cycle of hardware products including architecture, design, and implementation.
• Creates civil and mechanical design solutions and documentation.
• Proficient in use of AutoCAD for development and maintenance of engineering design packages.
• Sources, selects, and qualifies components used in the company's technology.
• Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability and implements changes.
• Develop plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Reviews field conditions relevant to constructability of design elements.
• Defines package requirements for products and customer requirements.
• Develops new packaging to meet established requirements and maintains oversight and quality of existing packages.
• Knowledge of MicroStation will be an advantage.
• Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects. Accountable for the successful completion of projects.
• Monitor all site safety and legal regulations during the implementation of the project.
• Involved during site execution and assisting team members.
• Strictly monitor the project schedule for meeting the project deadlines.
• Knowledge of MS Projects & Visio will be an advantage.
• Having networking skills to understand and able to build network design that meets the project requirements.
• Coordination with other internal departments to collect information required for the project.
• Coordination and close follow ups with Contractors, sub-contractors and vendors based on project requirements.
• Preparing daily reports and providing all relevant information to the Installation Manager, Project Manager and Project Director.
• Preparing project design, shop drawing reviews, Project submittals, including conceptual, preliminary, and final ITS engineering and technical planning.
• Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Working on the preparation of technical proposals and power point presentations.
• Attending project meetings and providing required information's to the Installation Manager, Project Manager and Project Director.
• Close coordination with the Installation Manager & Project Manager during the Project Phase.
• Should poses a self-driven attitude with the inputs from the Installation Manager & Project Manager and suggest with new ideas and solutions that best meet the project requirements.
• Should poses a very good technical understanding and documentation skills.
• Should be able to read, interpret, and understand RFP (Request for Proposal) documents and effectively support the Project Team in preparing technical proposals for new projects, ensuring that technical requirements, specifications, compliance criteria, and proposed solutions are accurately addressed.

Additional skills

• Excellent computer literacy hardware and application software and network protocols.
• Knowledge of industrial grade network switches and servers, electronics/electrical circuits, RFID, laser products and fiber optic solutions.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.E/B-tech, B.A) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from four-year college or university.

Experience

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Driving License

Candidates must hold a valid UAE driving license as a mandatory requirement for the role.
