Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior System Engineer Railway System Interface Manager for its Al Ain office within the Electronics and System Engineering Division. The role focuses on designing, integrating, and optimizing railway systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations across rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, power, and communications.

The incumbent will act as Railway Interface Manager, coordinating with the Railway Integration Manager and other System Engineering and System

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in system engineering for railway systems.
• Experience in interface management and integration across subsystems.
• Knowledge of EN 50126 RAMS, EN 50129, ETCS/ERTMS, and interoperability standards.

Responsibilities

• A System Interface Management: manage interfaces between subsystems and coordinate verification and validation.
• B System Integration: ensure interoperability between rolling stock, signaling, and infrastructure.
• C Verification & Validation: define and monitor V&V plans for interfaces and overall system.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior System Engineer Railway System Interface Manager to join its office in Al Ain within the Electronics and System Engineering Division.

Mission

The Railway Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing integrating and optimizing railway systems to ensure safe reliable and efficient operations. This role involves system-level thinking covering rolling stock signaling infrastructure power supply and communication systems. The successful candidate will join the RINA System Engineering team and will act as Railway Interface Manager for the project of appointment collaborating with the Railway Integration Manager and with other System Engineering and System Assurance Experts and Managers by ensuring the development and validation of all interfaces with the successful integration of the systems involved in the design and construction of the whole railway system.

Key Accountabilities

A System Interface Management

Managing railway system scenarios requirements system architecture related with the interaction between subsystems rolling stock signaling tracks power supply Selecting appropriate technologies and configurations for new rail projects Manage the interface development by the subsystems and coordinating the process of verification and validation of all interfaces during the life cycle of the project up to interface final successful closure Manage the correct interface of the system with all the external stakeholders ensuring the correct finalization of all the applicable authorization processes.

B System Integration

Ensuring interoperability between different railway subsystems interfaces between rolling stock signaling and infrastructure Validating system compatibility across national and international requirements and standards e g EN NFPA Ensuring the subsystem are correctly integrated to allow the validation of performance and functionalities for all foreseen scenarios for the railway system.

C Verification amp Validation

Allowing integration testing validation by ensuring railway systems adhere to the performance and characteristics required by the project requirements standards laws Defining and monitoring the execution of the V amp V plan for what concern the interfaces.

D Lifecycle Management

Managing railway system upgrades and modernization projects Supporting asset management and maintenance planning to maximize system longevity.

E Digitalization amp Smart Rail Technologies

Implementing IoT AI and Big Data solutions for predictive maintenance and automation Working with Digital Twin Remote Monitoring and Smart Signaling technologies.

Qualifications
