Job summary

Leading healthcare group in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain is seeking an experienced Consultant Infectious Disease Specialist to provide expert consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with infectious diseases and complex infections. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and participate in governance and teaching activities.

The role requires a medical degree and recognised postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases, with

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases / Infectious Disease Medicine or equivalent.
• Consultant-level clinical experience in Infectious Diseases.
• Western qualifications or internationally recognised board certification preferred.
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care, clinical governance, and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with infectious diseases.
• Manage a broad range of infectious conditions, including bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
• Evaluate and manage complex and recurrent infections.
• Provide specialist advice on antimicrobial therapy and appropriate infection management.
• Support the diagnosis and management of hospital-acquired and healthcare-associated infections.
• Work closely with microbiology, internal medicine, intensive care, surgery, and other relevant specialties.
• Provide consultation for patients with complex or immunocompromised conditions where infectious disease expertise is required.
• Participate in infection prevention and control activities and antimicrobial stewardship programmes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with healthcare facility and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, quality improvement, and teaching activities.
• Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and healthcare professionals when required.
