Job summary

SearchPlus HR is assisting a leading healthcare group in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to recruit an experienced Consultant Infectious Disease Specialist. The role focuses on expert consultation, accurate diagnosis, and comprehensive management of infectious diseases across a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will contribute to antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, and continuous professional development within a modern clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases or equivalent specialty qualification.
• Consultant-level clinical experience in Infectious Diseases.
• Western qualifications or internationally recognised board certification preferred.
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with infectious diseases.
• Manage a broad range of infectious conditions, including bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
• Evaluate and manage complex and recurrent infections.
• Provide specialist advice on antimicrobial therapy and infection management.
• Support diagnosis and management of hospital-acquired and healthcare-associated infections.
• Work with microbiology, internal medicine, ICU, surgery, and other specialties.
• Provide consultation for complex or immunocompromised patients requiring infectious disease expertise.
• Participate in infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship programmes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation as required by the facility and regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, governance, quality improvement, and teaching.
• Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and healthcare professionals when required.
