Job summary

NMC GROUP SERVICES is seeking a consultant-level Infectious Diseases specialist to join a UAE hospital. The position requires UAE licensing and a postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases or Internal Medicine, with supervision as a consultant.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases and/or Internal Medicine.
• Consultant-level certification recognized by UAE health authority.
• Valid eligibility/licensure with UAE regulatory authority (DOH Abu Dhabi).
• Relevant consultant-level clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary-care setting.
• Experience in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control desirable.
• Experience managing complex/immunocompromised patients advantageous.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification where required.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level assessment and management of infectious diseases.
• Diagnose and treat complex bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.
• Manage antimicrobial therapy and participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs.
• Provide consultation for inpatient and outpatient infectious disease cases.
• Support sepsis management and other serious infectious conditions.
• Advise on infection prevention, isolation precautions and outbreak management.
• Collaborate with microbiology and laboratory teams on cultures and testing.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings and case discussions.
• Provide guidance on infection control policies and healthcare-associated infections.
• Contribute to education and training of residents, specialists, nurses and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and UAE regulations.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, research and continuing medical education.
• Provide on-call or emergency consultation services as required by the hospital.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases and/or Internal Medicine.
• Appropriate consultant-level certification recognized by the relevant UAE health authority.
• Valid eligibility/licensure with the applicable UAE regulatory authority, DOH Abu Dhabi,.
• Relevant consultant-level clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary-care.
• Experience in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control is desirable
• Experience managing complex and immunocompromised patients is an advantage.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification, where required by the facility.
