Job summary

Pyxis is seeking a Senior QHSES/IMS professional in Abu Dhabi to maintain and enhance the company’s QHSES management system across all departments. You will drive ISO 9001/45001/14001 compliance, lead internal auditing, and coordinate improvement actions with senior leadership.

The role requires extensive UAE experience, NEBOSH Dip/IGC, IOSH Managing Safety, and a strong ability to implement risk controls and KPI reporting for ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent management qualification.
• ISO/IMS Auditor certification (ISO 9001/45001/14001).
• NEBOSH Dip/IGC indicated as a requirement.
• IOSH Managing Safety certification.

• Maintain IMS for Pyxis across all departments with role-relevant responsibilities.

Job description

• Maintain the ongoing operation of the IMS in its systematic management of Pyxis’ QHSES compliance requirements across all internal departments through role-relevant responsibilities.
• Ensure the IMS remains relevant to the context of the organization as the company continues to grow in size and scope.
• Ensure the Senior Leadership of the company maintain their commitment to company-relevant QHSES requirements of individual actions and departmental enforcement.
• Ensure company-relevant risk management processes and planning is implemented proactively during the pitching and planning phases of project tendering and delivery.
• Ensure internal and external resources (people, equipment, training, etc.) required for the maintenance of the IMS and operational QHSES compliance are sourced, provided and managed in cost-effective actions.
• Ensure all company operations are provided with and implement project-relevant QHSES risk controls, management processes of external resources and delivery processes of internal outputs.
• Ensure effective monitoring processes and tools are provided and utilized to monitor operational QHSES compliance, internal auditing and senior management IMS performance review.
• Ensure responsive incident management processes and actions are taken in the event of QHSES incidents occurring under the responsibility of Pyxis, including effective corrective actions to ensure recurrences don’t occur.
• Ensure all improvement opportunities to the IMS processes for improving QHSES compliance are identified, approved and implemented.

Education/ Qualification:

• Degree in engineering or equivalent management qualification
• ISO/IMS Auditor certification (ISO 9001/45001/14001)
• NEBOSH Dip/IGC
• IOSH Managing Safety

Work Experience:

• 5+ years in QHSES-MS roles
• 3+ years in UAE-based roles

Industry Knowledge:

• Extensive knowledge of ISO management standards (9001/45001/14001) clauses and compliance actions.
• Extensive knowledge of UAE regulations and compliance requirements.

Professional Skills:

• QHSSE management systems and processes.
• Proficient computer skills, specifically using MS Office applications.
• Maintaining IMS certification with ISO 9001/45001/14001, with improving external audit results.
• Regularly scheduled QHSES management actions across all company departments.
• Quarterly QHSES KPI statistical reports of improving compliance trends.
• Record-keeping for documented evidence of QHSES compliance by Pyxis.
• Developing a company culture unfamiliar with systematic management of QHSES requirements.
• Low overall company knowledge of ISO compliance processes.
• Dynamic fast-paced business operations requiring short-notice QHSES actions.
