Job summary
Wood is recruiting for a Rotational Support / Remote Engineer - Instrument & Control to join its UAE business unit in Sharjah. This full-time role provides day-to-day I&C engineering support for safe and reliable operations, working with the site team to implement long-term solutions and mitigate risk.
The candidate will monitor KPIs, support MoCs/EQs, and help optimize production while coaching client engineers and contributing to technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Significant experience as an I&C engineer in operations support.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and risk mitigation.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day I&C engineering support for site operations.
- Collaborate with site teams to resolve issues and reduce risk.
- Define operating envelopes and monitor instrument/control health.
- Support management of change (MoCs) and engineering queries (EQs).
- Identify vulnerabilities and opportunities to optimize production.
- Contribute to site procedures and document technical input.

- Performs day to day I&C Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
- Ensures that asset I&C Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe.
- Defines I&C Engineering operating envelopes, monitors health of static I&C Engineering equipment using operating envelopes, records and investigates excursions outside operating envelopes.
- Monitors I&C Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary.
- Provides I&C Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
- Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.
- Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
- Provides I&C Engineering coaching to Client engineers.
- Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation.
What makes you remarkable?
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline and / or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
- Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
- Significant experience in an Operations I&C Engineering support role.
- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
- Sound stakeholder management experience.
