Job summary

Wood invites applications for a Rotational Support / Remote Engineer - Instrument & Control to join its UAE business unit in Sharjah. This full-time role delivers day-to-day I&C engineering support for site operations, collaborating with the site team to resolve issues and reduce risk while driving safe, reliable, and compliant operations.

You will define operation envelopes, monitor KPIs, and provide technical input to MoCs, EQs and SOPs to enable production growth and asset integrity

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline; professional qualification preferred.
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer accreditation.
• Significant experience in an Operations I&C Engineering support role.
• Sound knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations; ability to guide designs to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day I&C engineering support for site operations.
• Collaborate with site team to resolve issues and reduce risk.
• Define I&C operating envelopes and monitor health of equipment.
• Support management of change (MoCs) and engineering queries (EQs).
• Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support forecast and growth.
• Write, review or input Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provide I&C engineering coaching to client engineers.
• Generate, revise and review discipline technical documentation.

Wood is currently recruiting for a Rotational Support / Remote Engineer - Instrument & Control to join its to join its UAE business unit: This is a full-time position in Sharjah, UAE.

The rotational support Instrument & Control (I&C) Engineer will provide day to day I&C Engineering support for site operations related queries / activities / risks to delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations. Collaborates with site based team to ensure that identified longer term engineering solutions are progressed to the appropriate team to reduce risk and grow production.

Job Purpose

• Performs day to day I&C Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
• Ensures that asset I&C Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe.
• Defines I&C Engineering operating envelopes, monitors health of static I&C Engineering equipment using operating envelopes, records and investigates excursions outside operating envelopes.
• Monitors I&C Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary.
• Provides I&C Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.
• Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides I&C Engineering coaching to Client engineers.
• Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation.

Education

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline and / or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
• Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.

Experience And Job Requirements

• Significant experience in an Operations I&C Engineering support role.
• Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes,
  standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent,
  control and mitigate risks.
• Sound stakeholder management experience.
