Wood is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Operations and Maintenance in Sharjah, UAE to provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support for site operations, addressing queries, activities and risks to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations.

You will report to the Operations Engineering Manager, work with the site team to advance longer-term engineering solutions, contribute to MoCs and Engineering Queries, and help identify production vulnerabilities and optimization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer accreditation.
• Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering support role.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day Mechanical Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working with the site team under the Operations Engineering Manager.
• Ensures asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood, risk assessed, and actions taken to reduce risk within timeframe.
• Defines static mechanical operating envelopes, monitors health and excursions of static equipment.
• Monitors Mechanical Engineering KPIs and initiates corrective actions as needed.
• Supports MoCs and Engineering Queries and provides technical input into SOPs.

Job Objectives

The Mechanical Engineer will provide day to day Mechanical Engineering support for site operations related queries / activities / risks to delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations. Collaborates with site-based team to ensure that identified longer term engineering solutions are progressed to the appropriate team to reduce risk and grow production.

Responsibilities

• Performs day to day Mechanical Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
• Ensures that asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe.
• Defines static mechanical engineering operating envelopes, monitors health of static mechanical equipment using operating envelopes, records and investigates excursions outside operating envelopes.
• Monitors static Mechanical Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary.
• Provides Mechanical Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.
• Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides static Mechanical Engineering coaching to client engineers.
• Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation.

Expected

• BSc or BEng or MEng (UK), BSc (US), or international equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering subject.
• Professional accreditation - Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.

Experience And Job Requirements

• Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering support role.
• Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
• Sound stakeholder management experience.
