Job summary

Wood is seeking a Rotational Support / Remote Electrical Engineer to join our UAE team in Sharjah. The role delivers electrical engineering expertise for site-based teams, performing and reviewing complex calculations and analyses.

The candidate will support MoCs and EQs, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and maintenance alignment with Equipment Strategies. A degree in EE and PE/CE accreditation are required, with substantial oil & gas experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
• Substantial experience with electrical equipment in oil & gas facilities; knowledge of governing codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides EE expertise to Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Supports hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
• Performs incident investigations and defect assessments related to electrical systems.
• Ensures inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring align with Equipment Strategies."
• Develops and updates Equipment Strategies based on performance feedback and reviews maintenance effectiveness.
• Performs reliability analyses using data from surveillance and trends metrics.
• Leads resolution of complex electrical engineering issues and contributes to Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides EE coaching to client engineers; produces and reviews technical documentation.

Wood is currently recruiting for a Rotational Support / Remote Electrical Engineer to join its UAE business unit: This is a full-time position in Sharjah, UAE.

The rotational support Electrical Engineer will provide electrical engineering (EE) expertise to site based teams by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine electrical engineering calculation and analyses.

Responsibilities

• Provides EE expertise to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Provides EE expertise to hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
• Provides EE expertise in performing incident investigations and defect assessments.
• Ensures that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies.
• Develops and updates the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance feedback and performs periodical review of planned inspection & maintenance effectiveness.
• Performs reliability analysis for electrical equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data, and trends performance metrics.
• Provides EE expertise to delivery of Kirkuk actions. Leads on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is electrical engineering.
• Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides EE coaching to Client engineers.
• Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation.

Experience And Job Requirements

• Substantial experience and technical understanding of engineering, maintenance and operation of electrical equipment in oil & gas facilities.
• Knowledge of governing codes, industry standards and local regulations relevant to electrical engineering, and proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for electrical equipment.
• Sound stakeholder management experience.
