Job summary

Wood in the UAE is seeking a Rotational Support / Remote Engineer - Instrument & Control to join its Sharjah operations. The role provides day-to-day I&C engineering support for site operations and collaborates with the site team to drive safe, reliable and compliant performance.

Key duties include defining I&C operating envelopes, monitoring health and KPIs, supporting MoCs/EQs, and coaching client engineers. Requires engineering degree and chartered engineer accreditation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Operations I&C engineering support
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations
• Ability to guide designs to mitigate risks

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day I&C engineering support to assist operations
• Ensure I&C risks are understood and mitigated within timelines
• Define operating envelopes and monitor health of I&C equipment
• Monitor KPIs and initiate corrective actions
• Provide I&C input to MoCs and Engineering Queries
• Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities
• Write and review site operations procedures and technical documents

operations related queries / activities / risks to delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations. Collaborates with site

risk and grow production

Job Purpose

• Performs day to day I&C Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
• Ensures that asset I&C Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframe.
• Defines I&C Engineering operating envelopes, monitors health of static I&C Engineering equipment using operating envelopes, records and investigates excursions outside operating envelopes.
• Monitors I&C Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiates corrective action as necessary.
• Provides I&C Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.
• Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides I&C Engineering coaching to Client engineers.
• Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation.

Qualifications

Education

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline and / or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
• Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.

Experience and Job Requirements

• Significant experience in an Operations I&C Engineering support role.
• Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
• Sound stakeholder management experience.
