Job summary

Wood is seeking a Rotational Support / Remote Electrical Engineer to join its UAE business unit in Sharjah. The role focuses on providing electrical engineering expertise to site teams through complex calculations and analyses in a full-time capacity.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering, professional accreditation such as Chartered or Professional Engineer, and substantial oil & gas equipment experience. You will contribute to hazard assessments, MoCs/EQs, and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
• Substantial experience with electrical equipment in oil & gas facilities.
• Knowledge of governing codes, industry standards and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides EE expertise to MoCs and EQs.
• Performs hazard identification and risk assessment for electrical systems.
• Supports incident investigations and defect assessments of electrical equipment.
• Ensures inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring align with Equipment Strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provides EE expertise to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Provides EE expertise to hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
• Provides EE expertise in performing incident investigations and defect assessments.
• Ensures that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies.
• Develops and updates the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance feedback and performs periodical review of planned inspection & maintenance effectiveness.
• Performs reliability analysis for electrical equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data, and trends performance metrics.
• Provides EE expertise to delivery of Kirkuk actions. Leads on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is electrical engineering.
• Write, review, recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provides EE coaching to Client engineers.
• Generates, revises, reviews discipline Technical Documentation
