Job summary

Raffles The Palm Dubai is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems across the property, ensuring safety, quality, and operational standards. You will work with the Engineering team to maintain comfort and performance of the hotel facilities.

The role requires specialized knowledge of HVAC, building controls, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to preventive maintenance and repairs, with attention to safety and service

Qualifications

• Secondary School + Technical College or equal.
• Minimum 5 years air-conditioning or refrigeration installation or maintenance experience in Industrial/Commercial Projects. Luxury Hotels – Hospitals experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Duty Engineer/Supervisor regarding daily work progress and work order completion.
• Attains all A/C complaint reports on daily basis. Guest room trouble is given priority.
• Works with Duty Engineer/Supervisor for preventive and annual maintenance programs.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in job and procedures.
• Carries out other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles The Palm as we are currently looking for an HVAC Technician, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor / Duty Engineer.

The HVAC Technician is responsible for carrying out a variety of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks across the property, ensuring that all HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the hotel’s safety, quality, and operational requirements.

At Raffles The Palm, the HVAC Technician plays an important role in maintaining the comfort, functionality, and exceptional standards of the property. The role requires a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented professional who can perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose HVAC issues, and respond efficiently to technical requirements. The HVAC Technician works proactively and collaboratively with the Engineering and other operational teams to ensure optimal performance of HVAC systems and support the seamless operation of the hotel.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following: -

• Reports to the Duty Engineer / Supervisor regarding daily work progress and work order completion.
• Attains all A/C complaint reports on daily basis. Guest room trouble is given priority.
• Works closely with Duty Engineer / Supervisor and peers to carry out preventive maintenance and annual maintenance program.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in job, departmental procedures and instructions.
• Carries out all other tasks assigned to him by his supervisor.

OTHER

These includes but are not limited to the following:-

• Able to read Building services, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical drawings.
• Able to fault find and repair air-conditioning and building control systems. Good electrical knowledge.
• Knowledge of BMS systems.
• Experience of reciprocating Chillers and Air handling plant and cold rooms.
• Familiar with planned Preventive Maintenance and Safety programmes.
• Flexible and team player – able to work on own initiative.
• Good understanding of water treatment techniques and able to handle chemicals.
• Makes periodic inspection tours to check all refrigeration equipment functioning properly.
• Carries out guest room maintenance according to schedule programme.
• Works closely with electrician to carry out electrical work when required, including functions and parties.
• Daily refrigeration log sheet to be filled and temperature to be recorded.
• Works closely with peers to assist in their job when requested by supervisor.
• Keeps all necessary tools in good working condition, keep their working place neat and clean.
• Understand the Raffles Brand and operating standards.
• Participate and assist in other projects as required.
• Ensure that all HVAC stocks are ordered and that the stores are well managed and maintained.
