Role Overview
Humanities Coordinator – CBSE Curriculum is a full‑time Education Management role located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The position focuses on leading humanities curriculum coordination, teaching standards, curriculum development, KHDA compliance support, and academic improvement within a CBSE school. The coordinator will work closely with teachers, leadership, and parents to enhance student progress and uphold CBSE and UAE educational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate humanities curriculum planning, teaching standards, assessment practices, and academic expectations across assigned year groups.
- Support teachers in delivering effective lessons in line with CBSE academic standards.
- Lead curriculum development, schemes of work, lesson planning guidance, assessment schedules, and departmental improvement priorities.
- Monitor teaching and learning through lesson plan reviews, student work checks, classroom observations, and progress data analysis.
- Work with teachers to improve pedagogy, student engagement, differentiated instruction, and learning outcomes.
- Support students in developing knowledge of history, geography, social studies, citizenship, culture, society, and global awareness.
- Ensure humanities curriculum delivery reflects CBSE requirements, UAE education expectations, and school academic goals.
- Apply knowledge of KHDA regulations to support documentation, inspection readiness, school improvement, and academic quality.
- Liaise with school leadership to review student progress, attainment, curriculum coverage, and areas requiring development.
- Provide guidance to teachers on assessment methods, feedback quality, intervention planning, and student support strategies.
- Stay updated with educational trends, curriculum innovation, teaching methodologies, and developments in humanities education.
- Maintain accurate departmental records, curriculum documents, assessment data, meeting notes, and academic evidence.
- Encourage the use of interactive teaching methods, digital resources, project‑based learning, and inquiry‑led classroom practice.
- Build a collaborative department culture focused on accountability, professional growth, and improved student achievement.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, coordinators, parents, students, and senior leadership when required.
- Perform additional humanities coordination duties as assigned by school leadership.
Ideal Profile
- Master’s degree with a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the UAE education sector.
- Previous experience as a Humanities Coordinator, Social Studies Coordinator, Subject Lead, or senior humanities teacher.
- Strong understanding of KHDA regulations and Dubai school compliance expectations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CBSE academic standards and curriculum requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teachers and support departmental improvement.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Substantial knowledge of curriculum development and current educational trends.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, assessment review, teacher support, and academic documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, students, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines, curriculum standards, and school improvement requirements.
- Applicant must be physically present in the UAE.
