Job summary

Stantec seeks a seasoned HSE professional to lead safety on infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. You will manage safety, health, and environmental activities, develop site safety plans, and conduct regular safety meetings and audits. Strong experience in sewerage and water projects is preferred.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, contractor audits, client liaison, and ensuring compliance with UAE regulations. A UAE driving license is required and TAQA/TRANSCO experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or health & safety management
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Infrastructure Construction/ Sewerage Field work background
• NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate or equivalent
• OSHAD/ ADOSH Official Registration
• Valid First Aid & Fire Fighting certification
• UAE Driving License
• Previous TAQA / TRANSCO approval in Water transmission is preferred

• Ensure overall site safety, health and environment management.
• Prepare and implement site safety plan and procedures.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and safety audits.
• Provide safety training as required by management.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly safety inspections and document findings.
• Conduct risk assessments for site activities.
• Audit site, contractor and sub-contractor performances and raise NCRs/incidents.
• Liaise with clients to manage health & safety expectations.
• Maintain safe working environment and adhere to company procedures.
• Assist Resident Engineer with additional duties as required.

Job description

Description: The role involves working on projects associated with Sewerage & Stormwater, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks, Pumping Station, Recycling Plant and rehabilitation works. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising & monitoring.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for overall site Safety health and environment management.
• Shall prepare site safety plan & procedures for site and implement safety policy.
• Shall conduct safety meetings at least once every month and conduct the site safety Audit and report that to the management.
• Health and safety supervisors conduct safety Training and other necessary training as fit by the management.
• Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections and documents them for reference. Consult with workers and management on the best approach to deliver a safe working environment for all workers.
• Conduct risk assessment program for the site work activities.
• Conduct Audit for the site, contractor and sub-contractor, Raise NCR, Accident, Incident Report.
• Client Service Management
• Internal and external client liaison
• Ability to build and maintain safety environment at site.
• Experience in infra project HSE supervision Management.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
• Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
• Maintain the health and safety environment at workplace.
• Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering / health & safety management, Environmental Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Infrastructure Construction/ Sewerage Field work background.
• NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate or equivalent and other HSE related Diploma certification.
• OSHAD/ ADOSH Official Registration.
• Valid First Aid & Fire Fighting certification.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the UAE & Abu Dhabi.
• UAE Driving License.
• Previous TAQA / TRANSCO approval in Water transmission is preferred.
