Job summary

Innovo Group is seeking an experienced HSE professional to ensure compliance with local and international standards and to implement HSE management systems at the project site. You will lead daily inspections, risk assessments, and permits to work, while guiding workforce and subcontractors on waste management, PPE use, and safety signage.

The role requires NEBOSH certification, a Diploma or degree, and 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in GCC contracting environments.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in GCC contracting companies.
  • NEBOSH certificate holder.
  • Diploma or degree as required by client/specs.
  • Ability to work in all weather and site conditions, including shift work.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with local, legal and international HSE standards and implement HSE Management Systems at site.
  • Communicate project HSE rules and regulations to all employees.
  • Conduct daily inspections and monitor high-risk activities for compliance.
  • Ensure risk assessments and permits to work are implemented and followed.
  • Monitor waste management, segregation, reuse and recycling of waste.
  • Implement and maintain scaffold tag system.
  • Conduct HSE engagements and record in the online system.
  • Inspect and record condition of fire equipment, plant and equipment.
  • Provide safe access, housekeeping and proper safety signage in collaboration with operations.
  • Enforce PPE use and maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Administer and enforce established HSE policies across areas.
  • Report violations; liaise with subcontractor HSE officers and engineers.
  • Conduct project HSE induction and monthly HSE training for workers and subcontractors.

Job description

Role Purpose Comply with local, legal and international HSE standards, rules and regulations; implement HSE Management Systems at site.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure compliance with local legal and contract requirements, Project HSE rules and regulations and polices regarding HSE are regularly communicated clearly to all employees.
  • Carry out regular daily inspections on the above requirements and monitor high risk activities to ensure full compliance.
  • Ensure risk assessments and permits to work system are implemented and followed by all site personnel.
  • Monitor and guide workforce and sub-contractors on waste management requirements including segregation at source and reduce reuse and recycling of waste.
  • Implement and maintain scaffold tag system.
  • Carry out HSE engagements with the workforce on their behalf, recording in the online system.
  • Inspect and record condition of all fire equipment, plant, and equipment.
  • Provide, with the operations team, safe access, housekeeping, and proper safety signage.
  • Enforce the use of PPE and ensure equipment are maintained in good condition.
  • Ensure that all established HSE policies are administered and enforced in all areas.
  • Report all violations Liaises with sub-contractors HSE officers and Engineers in work area ensuring all works are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Conduct project HSE induction training and monthly HSE training to workers, including subcontractors based on project scope and risk.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • 4+ years experience of relevant working experience (preferred in well-established contracting companies in GCC)
  • NEBOSH certificate holder.
  • Diploma or degree as required by client specs or zoning authority requirements
  • Ability to work in all outside weather and site conditions, including shift work within a manual/workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of OHS&E standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards.
  • Hands-on experience of implementing ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Ability to influence employees for the implementation of HSE tools.
  • Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence and conviction with the ability to intervene at all times.
  • A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
