Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment professional for major infrastructure projects in the UAE. The role requires advanced HSE expertise across tunneling, elevated structures, and rail infrastructure, along with strong knowledge of risk and permit-to-work systems.

Applicants should have a Diploma or Bachelor's in engineering or related safety field, NEBOSH/IOSH certs preferred, and a track record of incident investigation and hazard identification.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine duties in environmental, health and safety disciplines to ensure ES&H compliance.
• Assists in developing, implementing and maintaining safety programs and procedures.
• Monitors hazards and diseases present in the work area.
• Investigates accidents, injuries and hazards with others.
• Participates in recommending process and design improvements to minimize hazards.
• Supports employee training, emergency preparedness and program quality.

Job Description

• Under direct supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
• Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
• Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
• Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards.
• Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of HSE experience in major infrastructure construction projects.
• Mandatory experience in Tunneling Works (TBM, NATM, Cut & Cover, or similar methods).
• Previous experience in Viaduct / Elevated Structure Construction is advantageous.
• Previous experience in High-Speed Rail, Railway, Metro, or Rail Infrastructure Projects is essential.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment, and permit-to-work systems.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and hazard identification techniques.

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline.

Additional information

NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).

• IOSH Managing Safely / Working Safely.
• OSHA Safety Certification.
• First Aid and Fire Warden Certification (preferred).
