Job summary

Qualifications

• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely/Working Safely, OSHA certification are preferred.
• First Aid and Fire Warden certs are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment and permit-to-work systems.

HSE Responsibilities

• Perform routine environmental, health and safety duties to support compliance with applicable ES and H standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs, systems and procedures.
• Monitor workplace conditions for hazards and occupational health risks.
• Participate in investigations involving accidents, injuries and workplace hazard complaints.
• Support hazard identification and incident investigation activities.
• Recommend improvements to processes, procedures, designs and equipment where changes can help minimize workplace hazards.
• Participate in employee HSE training and emergency preparedness activities.
• Support the quality and effectiveness of established safety programs.
• Apply knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment and permit-to-work systems during project activities.

Infrastructure Experience

Candidates must have at least 7 years of HSE experience on major infrastructure construction projects. Practical experience with tunneling works is mandatory and may include TBM, NATM, Cut and Cover or similar construction methods. Previous experience with high-speed rail, railway, metro or rail infrastructure projects is essential. Exposure to viaduct or elevated structure construction is considered advantageous.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Diploma or Bachelor 's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
• IOSH Managing Safely or Working Safely.
• OSHA Safety Certification.
• First Aid and Fire Warden Certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment and permit-to-work systems.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and hazard identification techniques.

Project Safety Focus

The position combines day-to-day HSE monitoring with safety program support on technically demanding infrastructure works. Particular attention is required for tunneling and rail construction environments, where systematic hazard identification, incident investigation, permit controls and emergency preparedness form important parts of project safety management.
