About the Role

The HSE Engineer will provide technical safety expertise and support the development and implementation of risk management practices designed to maintain safe and compliant operations. Working across operational and technical functions, the role will identify hazards, assess operational risks and develop appropriate controls while supporting process safety, contractor HSE performance and emergency preparedness.

HSE Risk Management

• Prepare and implement HSE Risk Management strategies to support safe operations and compliance.
• Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Analysis to identify and address operational safety concerns.
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis and recommend appropriate risk controls.
• Assess safety risks and provide practical recommendations for mitigation.
• Implement Safe Work Practices and associated Work Method Statements to maintain a controlled working environment.
• Analyse safety information and prepare reports for management review.

Process and Technical Safety

• Develop and implement Process Safety Management protocols to mitigate operational risks.
• Provide technical advice on safety matters and operating integrity.
• Apply HSE and operating integrity knowledge to support safe execution of Oil and Gas activities.
• Work with relevant technical and operational teams to address identified process safety concerns.
• Support continuous improvement of safety controls and risk management practices.

Contractor HSE Performance

• Monitor contractor HSE performance against applicable safety requirements.
• Identify areas requiring improvement and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Work with contractors and internal stakeholders to address HSE performance issues.
• Support consistent application of required safety practices during contractor activities.

Permit to Work and Safe Operations

• Oversee Permit to Work processes and verify adherence to applicable safety requirements.
• Support effective hazard controls before and during work execution.
• Review work activities from an HSE perspective and identify potential exposure to operational hazards.
• Promote compliance with established safe work practices across relevant activities.

Fatigue Risk Management

• Conduct Fatigue Risk Management assessments.
• Identify fatigue-related operational risks and recommend appropriate measures.
• Support implementation of controls designed to reduce fatigue-related safety exposure.

Crisis and Emergency Preparedness

• Participate in Crisis Management activities.
• Contribute to Emergency Response Planning and preparedness.
• Work with relevant teams to ensure identified safety risks are considered within emergency response arrangements.
• Provide HSE input to activities supporting operational readiness and response.

Collaboration and Reporting

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve safety and operational objectives.
• Analyse HSE performance information and communicate relevant findings.
• Prepare safety reports and recommendations for management consideration.
• Provide technical HSE guidance to operational and supporting functions as required.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor 's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
