Job summary

Role Description

We are looking for an HSE Engineer to support the implementation of project HSE plans, risk controls and safety performance across civil construction activities. The role requires a technically aware HSE professional who can work closely with project teams to identify risks, improve safe systems of work, guide site supervision and maintain strong HSE compliance throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement project HSE plans, risk assessments, method statement reviews and safe work procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, compliance checks and high‑risk activity monitoring.
• Support toolbox talks, HSE training, awareness programmes and safety campaigns for site teams.
• Review permits, lifting plans, work at height controls, excavation safety, scaffolding, plant/equipment safety and emergency arrangements.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, and ensure corrective/preventive action closure.
• Prepare HSE reports, statistics, dashboards, observation logs and compliance records for management review.
• Coordinate with project management, QA/QC, subcontractors and client/consultant HSE representatives.
• Promote a proactive safety culture while supporting productivity and project delivery requirements.

Qualifications:

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
• NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent recognised HSE qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, permit systems, inspections, audits and HSE reporting.
• Experience coordinating with project teams, subcontractors and consultant/client HSE representatives.
• Strong communication, training, reporting, influencing and problem‑solving skills.
• Additional certifications such as First Aid, Fire Safety, Scaffold Inspection or Lifting Safety.
• Experience in high‑rise, hospitality, infrastructure or mixed‑use projects.
