Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to lead the Housekeeping team under the Executive Housekeeper, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across 259 guestrooms and suites.

You will train and develop staff, enforce policies, manage scheduling and coordination with Front Office and Engineering, and maintain exceptional guest service while upholding brand and safety standards in a luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership and staff development experience in luxury/hospitality
• Strong understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards
• English communication skills; Arabic helpful

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and train the Housekeeping team with development plans
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, safety and confidentiality
• Oversee schedules, inventories, and coordination with Front Office and Engineering
• Maintain exceptional guest service and handle service recovery when needed

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Housekeeping department in Dubai, the Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day Housekeeping operations together with the Executive Housekeeper and/or Director of Rooms, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation are consistently maintained throughout the hotel.. Housekeeping Manager reports to the Executive Housekeeper.

As a Housekeeping Manager, you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:

• Lead, motivate, train, and develop the Housekeeping team, ensuring strong performance, compliance with standards, and regular appraisals and training plans.
• Ensure full adherence to Mandarin Oriental policies, procedures, code of conduct, confidentiality requirements, safety standards, and a respectful, discrimination-free workplace.
• Oversee housekeeping operations, including cleaning schedules, inventories, minibar management, productivity monitoring, preventive maintenance programs, and coordination with Front Office and Engineering.
• Maintain exceptional guest service standards by responding promptly to guest needs, handling complaints effectively, managing service recovery, and ensuring guest preferences are met.
• Drive operational excellence by implementing quality, audit, and brand standards (Forbes, LQA, MOQA, FLHSS&E), while delivering cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
• Act as a hotel ambassador, support departmental projects and emergency situations, promote a positive working environment, and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

As a Housekeeping Manager, weexpectfrom you:

• Secondary school diploma required; vocational hospitality qualification or a bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or Business Management is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a luxury hotel environment, including at least 2 years within Housekeeping operations.
• Middle East and hotel pre-opening experience are considered strong advantages.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are essential; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
• Excellent planning, organizational, multitasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with a professional appearance and approach.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and flexible to work overnight shifts and varying schedules as operationally required.
