Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Head of Year - Primary for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the Academic Year 2026/2027. The role requires strong leadership to raise standards and close gaps in learning, with collaboration across teams.

The successful candidate will be aligned with Aldar’s ethos and values and will lead a team to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of teaching experience.
• Experience of the UK curriculum.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement policies and practices for department reflecting the School’s vision, aims and high standards of teaching and learning.
• Establish, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long term plans for the development of department.
• Use data to identify underachieving students and create plans of action to support them.
• Analyse and interpret relevant school data to inform policies and department/school SEF writing.
• Ensure suitable schemes of work for all year groups, including SEN/G&T/EAL provision.
• Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students.
• Set expectations for staff on achievement, teaching quality and behaviour.
• Evaluate teaching quality to identify improvements and take action.
• Contribute to CAS Programme and Booster/Revision sessions for I/GCSE and IB DP.
• Performance manage team and deploy staff/resources efficiently.
• Maintain budgets for department resources and CapEx.
• Use accommodation effectively to support learning.
