GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail is seeking a Head of Year 12 to provide comprehensive pastoral and academic leadership for the Year 12 cohort in Dubai. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; PGCE or equivalent qualification.
• Proven leadership experience in a school environment and strong understanding of pastoral systems.
• Ability to interpret student information, identify concerns early and coordinate action across academic and pastoral teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pastoral care, academic oversight and development of the Year 12 cohort.
• Establish clear expectations for behaviour, attendance, punctuality and personal responsibility.
• Monitor academic performance and coordinate interventions when progress lags.
• Review attainment and pastoral information to identify patterns needing action.
• Track attendance and liaise with families where concerns arise.
• Maintain safeguarding records and ensure timely follow-up of issues.
• Line manage Year 12 form tutors and coordinate tutor teams.
• Promote engagement and enrichment activities within Year 12.
